Wow, I've started to receive lots of emails already (and fortunately not a lot of SPAM). Below are the first ideas that have come off the line (in no particular order):
- Colored Headphones

- Wi-Fi detector

- In-car dock
- Ipod connector adapter
- Alarm clock
- Mini speakers

The good news is that most of these are in the works in one form or another. Keep the ideas coming!

Nice to see these are already being developed.
What I would really like to see is tight integration with the rest of Microsoft's products...
Media Center: My zune software keeps up with my recorded shows and movies and syncs them with my zune
Xbox Live: My gamertag is with me on my zune, so that when I meet someone with a zune and an xbox live account I can beam them my gamercard and they can accept my friend request the next time they re-sync their Zune.
Live Anywhere: I think it would be great if the games you purchase on various platforms could be transferded over to the Zune in one shape or another...I need my portable Geometry Wars
So those are my idea...and I realize that the Zune will initially be focused solely on Music, but I think that you guys can do some very cool stuff down the road.

I'd like to recommend an easily hackable firmware. This would help with the achilles heel of the Zune, that is, the auto-DRM wrap that gets applied to files when they're transferred to another device.
MS is already making the token effort to appease the RIAA with their OEM firmware. Just like the first-gen XBox, if the Zune is easily hacked to get around the silly DRM thing it could be a real contender. Conversely, if they take an anti-user approach like Sony does with the PSP it'll be a hard sell.
Are there any wireless headphones that will work with the zune mp3 player?
Microsoft zune and mp3 companies ARE NOT!!! Being honest enough to give information to Consumers about Questions regarding battery "the total life of" and "price to replace" it. Zune and others knows the price of a new battery and or if it can be replaced! I asked microsoft zune, sony and ZEN customer suppport. They skipped around my questions as if it was the plague. Was on the phone with most of them for 1/2 hour. Still didn't get an answer of approx cost. And it will eventually need to be replaced!!! I spoke to many customers in a store, where mp3s were sold.Even the workers in a electronics department store. I Asked the same Question.do you own a mp3 and can the battery be replaced? Most did not know it was special built in and not easily replaceable. Most adult customer,even teens don't even know the problems they will face at all! IT"S not mentioned! one not even on their web sight. only how to recharge it. But nothing about once it cant be charged!! HUM I wonder WhY? It took 3 weeks of calling to even get some kind of answer and they were vague!!:( Are all mp 3 players like this? Or do some have batteries rechargeable that you can replace yourself? Like gameboy items? You would think they could have made mp3's, ipods, ETC and zunes with batteries that would be like that of the gameboy,advance or game boy xp. Have never had battery problems at all with these devises and after 8 years. Still have not had to replace.Even if I do they are inexpensive, Easily attainable with out all the replace it **** you will have to go through with zune and mp3's! To have to pay to send your mp3 to and from + repair costs!!!IF it can be changed! IF you dont lose all your months of downloading on it! AND after you pay for all that music so what you have it on your pc but you cant take it with you anywhere. If it cant be replaced. OR the expence of another one! rethinking if mp3s are really all their cracked up to be. A big bug of a problem if you ask me! A high price for only 3 to 5 years of battery usage especially with the cost of added devices we buy and music at almost a dollar a piece! BY the way I was told this is NOT covered under WARRANTY! It's a normal wear and tear situation!
