In conjunction with some of the new hires and new projects, I've been making partner visits. It is a bit of a dog's breakfast of partners (automotive, accessories, travel and hospitality, etc). As I'm able to post about some of these projects, I'll keep you updated.

I'd be excited to read more about any new speaker system accessories. Lansing's model looks and sounds nice, but is iHome still putting out their units?
What do you think of Philips buying out DLO? Is this going to hinder development of new Zune accessories?
You use Indian call centers, right? I am having a problem with my Zune and am currently on the hone with someone who does not seem to know what he is doing (well, I am on hold so that he can cunsult with his supervisor). Basically, all he did was point to all the help files I already viewed.

Well, it ends up that something is wrong with my device. Despite the fact that it is still under warranty, there is nothing I can do about it because my mother-in-law who gave me the device no longer has the receipt.
My wife had problems with her iPod. They did the service under the warranty without receipt (another gift from her mother).
If I cannot get service under the warranty, I will NEVER get another Zune again.

Just an idea for you Paul, sometimes major retailers like best buy will reprint receipts, thats a good place to start. Also if it was bought on a credit card you have proof of and date of purchase. Not having the receipt should not be an end all for warranty coverage.
I think MS should help Paul with this one because there is no way he could have had the Zune for more than a year.
Apple probably did that because you registered with Apple (using the Serial Number and maybe the Receipt Number?)
I was told by Zune support, and I quote, "Call back if you get a receipt and we will tell you what to do to get warranty service."
My mother-in-law says she will see if she still has it, but it is doubtful.

Bill - New speakers are in the works. Look for a couple at the $99 pricepoint.
Johncz - Philips is a great company. I hope they do very well with the purchase.
Paul - I don't know about the call centers. I was told they are in the US, but have never called them myself. I don't know what the policy is about service without a receipt.
